A familiar workflow, simplified

From statements
to a clearer picture.

Each stage gives you a specific task. You stay in control of the evidence, the categories and the finished report.

01 / STATEMENTS

Bring the evidence together.

Create the client and add PDF, CSV or XLSX statements. Check that the files and reporting period cover the case.

02 / CHECK

Review what needs attention.

Check grouped merchants, uncertain categories and flagged payments. Confirm or correct the suggestions with the original evidence available.

03 / REPORT

Make the picture clear.

Review the expenditure summary, add the appropriate context and export a report for the case file.

Designed for the real work
01

Merchant review, together.

Review grouped payments and apply an appropriate category across the selected items. Check the underlying transactions before confirming.

02

Consistency within your business.

Share confirmed merchant categories within your licensed business and review conflicting choices. Keep client-only exceptions separate.

03

Useful prompts for a conversation.

Gambling and high-cost credit flags can highlight payments to discuss. They do not diagnose vulnerability or decide whether a client can borrow.

04

Reports with a clear purpose.

Bring recorded income and expenditure into a readable case summary. The adviser checks the evidence and the lender’s own requirements.

Data & security

Know what stays local.
Know what is shared.

Source statements and reports are handled on your computer. Screened descriptions can be sent for AI categorisation; business services handle licensing and shared merchant rules.

A few useful answers.

Read all FAQs
How much does Broker Ledger cost?
Broker Ledger costs £39.99 per month per ICO registration, with up to five admin staff included at no additional cost. Broker networks should contact us for bespoke pricing based on size.
Do my client’s bank statements leave my computer?
The desktop workflow reads source statements and produces reports locally. Screened descriptions can be sent to an external AI service for categorisation. Account, licensing and shared merchant-category services also involve online processing. Read our data and security explanation before using the software with client data.
Does the AI calculate the figures or make lending decisions?
AI helps suggest categories. The software calculates the report totals from the recorded transactions. You review the source evidence, classifications and report. Broker Ledger does not approve a mortgage, provide regulated advice or replace lender criteria.
Will lenders accept every report?
No software provider can guarantee acceptance by every lender. Broker Ledger helps organise evidence for your case file. Check the lender’s current requirements and verify the report before submitting it.
